In order to better serve the area's educational institutions and the community, JMoCA plans to rotate the permanent collection at least twice a year.
Each rotation will concentrate on a specific theme. The inaugural exhibition planned for fall 1998 will be "Portraits". The museum plans to enhance the communities awareness of modern art and its process by implementing the following: the training of docents, the production of a teaching video, artists workshops, lectures, the development of an art curriculum for art educators, and an exhibition of student work. All will incorporate the "Portrait" theme.
